The Department of Islamic Studies is dedicated to the academic study of the Qur'an, its sciences, interpretation, and related fields of Islamic scholarship. The Department develops students' understanding of Qur'anic texts, principles of Tafsir, Arabic language, Hadith, Islamic jurisprudence, and the historical and intellectual traditions surrounding Qur'anic interpretation.
Through its ND in Interpretation of Qur'anic Science programme, the Department prepares students for further academic study and professional opportunities in teaching, research, Qur'anic education, translation, community development, and related fields.
